The Friends of Edison are an enthusiastic community of creatives, historians, innovators, and supporters united by a shared passion for preserving and celebrating the extraordinary legacy of Thomas Edison.
Through fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on engagement, our team works together to protect the priceless artifacts housed at the West Orange National Historical Park while inspiring future generations with Edison’s spirit of curiosity, invention, and possibility.

With so many ways to contribute, we hope you’ll find a way to help that meets your wanting to be a part of something amazing while exploring the Edison Legacy.
OUR MISSION
PRESERVATION & LEGACY
Together, we help raise funds to preserve artifacts and share Edison’s ideas in his West Orange National Park.
The Thomas Edison National Historical Park receives federal funding, as do all the National Park Service locations. However, those funds do not cover all of the conservation work needed to extend the Edison legacy. That’s where we come in! Since 1984, our group has partnered with the National Historical Park to preserve, promote, and protect both the Edison Laboratory and his home, Glenmont, in West Orange, NJ.
